FAQs
Got a question about our canvas printing services? Maybe you'll find the answer below, but if not just give us a shout (Contact Us) and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Photos & Images
1. I don’t have a digital file – can I still get this photo printed?
No, we can’t accept photo prints. We can only work with digital files. However, it’s very easy to have a print photo scanned professionally – your local print shop or Kodak Shop will be able to do this for you, and it’s not very expensive. Make sure you tell them that you’re having the photo printed on canvas and that it needs to be at least 150 dpi. Then take the file they create and upload it to our site, and we’ll get to work!
2. Help! I don’t know anything about computers or photography! Is my photo going to look good on canvas?
If your digital file is at least 150 dpi, it will look good on canvas. If you’re not sure about the resolution of the photo and don’t know how to check, you’re welcome to email the image to us at , along with the canvas size you’re looking to order. We’ll analyse the image and get back to you with a recommendation. If the image isn’t of good enough quality we won’t let you waste your money and time.
Construction & Printing
1. How are your frames constructed?
We use only the highest-quality gallery-grade materials. All of our frames are wood and kiln dried, and have a depth of 3cm. In order to prevent indentation of the edge of the frame onto the canvas, our frames are constructed with a raised lip, which solves the potential problem nicely.
2. What kind of canvas do you use?
The canvas we use has a semi gloss finish with a 370gsm count. They are made from a 35% cotton, 65% polyester blend. We only use original, high quality HP latex inks which are resistant to fading, scratches, water and chemicals.
3. Do I have wrapping options?
Of course! We can offer the wrapping that you prefer, including Gallery Wrap (the sides of the frame as a continuation of the image), Solid Colour Wrap (the sides are a solid colour of your choice), and Mirror Wrap (the sides are a mirror of your image). If you have specific wrapping requirements, contact us to discuss it!
4. What kind of printer and inks do you use?
We use high-quality professional-grade HP printers, and we only use certified HP inks.
Care & Maintenance
1. I’ve never owned a canvas before – how do you clean it?
Don’t use any sort of cleaning liquid or compound, ever. A static-electricity dusting cloth can be used with a light motion, or a vacuum with a brush attachment can be used gently to remove dust.
2. How long will the canvas last?
If you mount your canvas away from direct sunlight and keep it away from moisture and dust, your canvas will last for years and look as stunning as it did when you first received it.
